ECM Golf Academy, the high-performance golf programme at Epsom College Malaysia, has achieved a breakthrough on the international stage with a series of outstanding performances at the World Schools Golf Championship in Scotland.
Leading the charge was 15-year-old Danish D. from Sabah, who produced a stellar three-day performance of 69, 70 and 74 to be crowned both player of the tournament and overall champion. His composed display under blustery Scottish conditions cemented his reputation as one of Malaysia’s brightest young golfers.

He was joined on the podium by fellow academy standout Adrianna S., 15, from Negeri Sembilan, who secured the runner-up spot in the girls’ division, further underlining her emergence as a rising star on the national junior circuit. The youngest member of the team, 14-year-old Afham O. from Kelantan, also impressed, clinching third place in the junior boys’ category. Already ranked among Asia’s Top 10 golfers in his age group, Afham’s result demonstrated poise beyond his years.
“These results reflect months of disciplined, data-driven preparation and the students’ resilience under pressure,” said Travis van Dijk, Head Coach of ECM Golf Academy. “Danish, Adrianna and Afham executed with maturity beyond their years, precise course management, excellent short-game touch, and the composure you need in international fields.”

The World Schools Golf Championship, staged from 14–17 September, unfolded across Royal Musselburgh Golf Club, The Musselburgh Golf Club, and concluded at the Fairmont St Andrews’ Torrance and Kittocks courses. More than 100 golfers representing 24 schools from seven countries competed, with live scoring and daily streams ensuring worldwide coverage.
Since its launch in June 2023, ECM Golf Academy has quickly built a reputation for excellence. Located on a five-acre complex within Epsom College Malaysia’s 50-acre campus, the Academy provides a daily training advantage with a 30-bay driving range, indoor and outdoor teaching studios, extensive short-game areas, and cutting-edge swing analysis tools such as TrackMan. Student-athletes train under PGA-certified coaches while pursuing rigorous academics at the British boarding school.

Mrs Avis Parker, Head of School at Epsom College Malaysia, praised the students’ achievements as a reflection of the Academy’s vision. “The success of Danish, Adrianna and Afham epitomises not only the calibre of coaching and facilities at Epsom, but also the values we hold dear – ambition with purpose, academic and sporting excellence, and a culture of genuine care,” she said. “It is a privilege to witness our young people excelling with such distinction on the international stage.”
Looking ahead, ECM Golf Academy will host the ASEAN Junior Championship 2025 from 22–25 November, a WAGR-accredited tournament expected to attract the region’s strongest junior golfers.
Supported by partnerships with Mizuno and AirAsia, the Academy continues to gain momentum as one of Asia’s most promising hubs for junior golf development.
