The Maybank Championship returns to Kuala Lumpur Golf & Country Club (KLGCC) this October, with five Malaysians confirmed for the US$3 million LPGA showpiece – the richest women’s golf tournament in the region.

Headlining the local contingent is newly turned professional Mirabel Ting, whose rapid rise has captured international attention. Ting made headlines at last year’s Championship with a tied-12th finish as the only amateur in the field. Before turning pro in July, she reached World Amateur No. 2, became the first Malaysian to top the NCAA Division One rankings, and earned the Annika Award – the highest honour in U.S. collegiate women’s golf.

She will be joined by Ashley Lau, Malaysia’s current No. 1 and a 2024 Olympian, who posted a T22 finish at the 2024 Maybank Championship. With strong performances on the Epson Tour and across the region, Lau is aiming to build on her consistency and deliver another standout showing at KLGCC.

Kelly Tan

Adding star power is Kelly Tan, a two-time Olympian and Maybank ambassador. Tan, who has held LPGA Tour status since 2014, owns a career-best runner-up finish at the 2022 and 2023 Dow Great Lakes Bay Invitational. Her experience and pedigree make her a key figure in Malaysia’s campaign.

Liyana Durisic, who made her professional debut at last year’s ASEAN Qualifier, returns after breaking through on both the domestic and Australasian circuits. She currently tops the PGM Tour Ladies’ Order of Merit and sits seventh on the WPGA Tour of Australasia standings.

Rounding out the Malaysian line-up is Genevieve Ling, who has gained valuable international experience with strong results in Asia and Australia this season, including a runner-up finish at the WPG Ladies Open in Chinese Taipei.

Together, the five players reflect Maybank’s long-term commitment to elevating women’s golf in Malaysia and the region. To further strengthen the pathway to the global stage, Maybank will award the highest-finishing invitee a spot in a 2026 Epson Tour event, the official LPGA development tour.
