Malaysia’s Gavin Green carded a four-under-par 67 to share the opening round lead in the Belgian Knockout yesterday.
The reigning Asian Tour No 1 carded four birdies at the Rinkven International Golf Club in Antwerp to jointly top the leaderboard with six other golfers in the European Tour event.
The Belgian Knockout has a hybrid format that incorporates 36 holes of traditional strokeplay before the top 64 players go head-to-head over nine holes of knockout strokeplay on the weekend.
Green is in his debut season on the European Tour and looks set for a potentially high seeding in the knockout phase. He begins his second round at 1pm today (7pm Malaysian time).
