China’s Liu Yujie claimed victory in the women’s category with a total score of 12-under-par 276 (69, 69, 66, 72), displaying exceptional skill.
Liu said, “Winning here is incredibly fulfilling. The competition pushed me to my limits, and I’m delighted with the outcome.”
Malaysia’s Ng Jing Xuen and Thailand’s Thitikarn Thapasit secured the second and third positions with scores of 4-under-par 284 and 2-under-par 286 respectively, showcasing the depth of the field.
The best Malaysian finisher in the women’s category, Ng Jing Xuen said, “Representing my country and achieving this result is an honour. The level of support and competition here was phenomenal,” she said.
Mr Teoh Piek Kee, the Tournament Director, stated, “This year’s Malaysian Amateur Open has been a showcase of exceptional golfing skills. The players displayed tremendous spirit and sportsmanship, making it a memorable event”.
