Jaemin burns the course on final day to emerge victorious at the Malaysian U.S. Kids Championships

South Korea’s Jaemin Park burned the Glenmarie Golf and Country Club course with a blistering display of flawless golf, that saw him card a four-under-68 and walk away with the title.

The overnight leader competing in the Boys 15-18 age group category of the Malaysian U.S. Kids Championships, Jaemin was simply in a class of his own by winning the title by an 18-stroke margin.

The South Korean was 13 strokes ahead after the second round, carding scores of 72 and 73 but saved the best for the last to come home with a sizzling score of 68 and signed off with a total score of 213.

Joel Francis Fisher who carded rounds of 82, 76 and 73 for a three-round total of 231, finished second while Malaysian Yeong Jae Song kept the Malaysian flag flying on the podium by finishing third on 240.

The Girls 15-18 category was a much closer affair but Kornchanok Triyakul from Thailand who held a two-stroke lead over Indonesian Renoctoviana Rama yesterday, continued to produce a consistent performance to lift the title.

Kornchanok carded rounds of 71, 76 and 74 for a three-day total of 221 while Renoctoviana posted rounds of 74, 75 and 75 for a total of 224 to finish in second place.

Caithlyn Ong from Singapore took third place with a three-day total of 227 after rounds of 73, 77 and 77.

Apart from the two main battles, young golfers from 15 countries are also vying for podium finishes in their respective age group categories right from 7 & Under to 14, comprising 11 other categories.
