Junior golfers from around the globe tee off at Mandiri Ciputra Junior World Championship 2025

Bank Mandiri has reaffirmed its commitment to nurturing Indonesia’s next generation of sporting talent, stepping up once again as the main sponsor of the Mandiri Ciputra Golfpreneur Junior World Championship (MCGJWC) 2025. The international junior golf tournament will take place from 10 to 12 June at Damai Indah Golf, PIK Course, drawing elite young golfers from across four continents.

This year’s edition marks a historic moment, with junior athletes from Botswana, Kenya, Namibia, and Zimbabwe participating for the first time, highlighting the tournament’s growing global reach. Competitors from 20 countries, including Australia, China, Hong Kong, Chinese Taipei, India, Japan, South Korea, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, South Africa, Sri Lanka, Thailand, United States, Vietnam, and Indonesia will vie for one of junior golf’s most coveted titles.

Speaking at the press conference, Jan Winston Tambunan, Executive Officer of Bank Mandiri Network & Retail Funding, emphasised the bank’s dual role: “We’re not only supporting this event as the main sponsor, but also enabling a seamless tournament experience through our digital services. This partnership reflects our broader mission to empower youth potential and grow Indonesia’s sports tourism.”

Bank Mandiri’s Livin’ by Mandiri app, along with Mandiri debit and credit card services, will provide a range of digital financial solutions at the venue. Visitors and participants can also access lifestyle features through the app’s Sukha platform during the championship.

Tournament organiser and Ciputra Golfpreneur Foundation founder Budiarsa Sastrawinata welcomed the increased diversity of this year’s field. “This tournament has become a magnet for the best junior golf talent worldwide. Our goal remains the same— to be the cradle for future champions while building friendships and character through sport,” he said.

Now in its 28th edition, MCGJWC continues to grow in stature. Past participants have gone on to successful careers in professional golf, including Nasa Hataoka, Patty Tavatanakit, and Guan Tian-lang.

The 2025 competition features a new team format, pairing two boys and two girls per country. The combined best gross scores of three team members across three rounds will determine the team standings. In the individual category, the Boys’ Overall Champion will gain entry to the Ciputra Golfpreneur Tournament (Asian Development Tour), while for the first time, the Girls’ Overall Winner will qualify for the Indonesia Women’s Open 2026 (KLPGA Dream Tour).

Beyond the competition, the tournament aims to introduce golf to a broader audience. On 10 June, local schoolchildren were invited to experience the sport with CGF athletes. The public can also take part in fun activities such as a games day on 11 June and a Team Putting Challenge on 12 June. A lead-up promotional event, Street Golf, was recently held at Aloha PIK and GBK Senayan, bringing the sport into urban public spaces.

With growing international interest and strong domestic support, the Mandiri Ciputra Golfpreneur Junior World Championship continues to position Indonesia as a rising hub for global sports tourism. Bank Mandiri believes that fostering young talent through platforms like this is key to building a new generation of world-class athletes.
