Malaysia’s Kelly Tan has finished in 33rd place on the 2019 Symetra Tour Volvik Race For The Card standings following a solid T14 performance in the season-ending Tour Championship.
The 25-year-old carded rounds of 70, 69, 67 and 72 to finish on 10-under-par 278 at the LPGA International Jones Course in Daytona Beach, Florida. She earned a total of US$40,781 from 17 events in 2019, which included a win in the Florida’s Natural Charity Classic in March.
France’s Perrine Delacour topped the 2019 Volvik Race For the Card standings with US$125,042, ahead of Thailand’s Patty Tavatanakit (US$117,518). The top 10 players earned LPGA cards for next season.
Next up for Tan will be the LPGA Q-Series at Pinehurst Resort, North Carolina, in two weeks’ time as she continues her quest to regain her LPGA card. The gruelling eight-round Q-Series, which is the final stage of the LPGA qualifying school, rewards the top 45 players (including ties) with LPGA membership in Category 14 for 2020.
