Japan’s Kenshi Yada and Thailand’s Kanyarak Pongpithanon were crowned the Boys’ and Girls’ Overall Champions, respectively, as the China Hainan Junior International Golf Tournament @ Resorts World Awana – Malaysia Leg 2026 concluded after three days of international junior golf competition.
Held from 13 to 15 August at Resorts World Awana Golf Course, the tournament brought together 108 junior golfers representing 10 countries across eight age-group categories for boys and girls aged six to 18. This was the fourth time the Hainan junior tournament had been staged in Malaysia and its first edition at the newly remodelled highland course.

Yada produced rounds of 71, 73 and 74 for a 218 total, five over par, to secure the Boys Overall title. Pongpithanon closed with a final-round 70 after earlier rounds of 71 and 74, finishing on 215, two over par, to claim the Girls Overall crown.
Set about 3,100 feet above sea level in an ancient rainforest, Resorts World Awana provided a memorable championship setting. Beyond the competition, players and guests celebrated friendship and cultural exchange, including a Friendship Tree Planting Ceremony on 12 August, a symbolic continuation of the ties forged when the tournament first came to Malaysia seven years ago.
The tournament was sanctioned by the Malaysian Golf Association and China Golf Association, hosted by the Hainan Golf Association and co-hosted by SportExcel Malaysia, with Eagle & Birdies Golf Junket Sdn. Bhd. serving as organiser. Categories A and B were recognised as World Amateur Golf Ranking counting events.
All eight category champions have earned all-expenses-paid invitations, from their arrival in Haikou to competing in the 2026 Grand Final at Mission Hills Golf Club Haikou from 20 to 23 October 2026. The invitation covers the tournament entry fee, accommodation, airport transfers, meals and official functions.
This year, the second- and third-place finishers in all eight categories may also apply for self-funded entry to the Grand Final, subject to availability and confirmation by the Hainan Golf Association.
