KLGCC, Jebsen & Jessen seal RM30 million, five-year partnership to enhance course standards

Under the partnership, KLGCC will undergo a phased upgrading programme featuring modern Toro turf equipment and advanced irrigation systems, supported by data-driven technologies such as moisture mapping and precision water management.

Kuala Lumpur Golf & Country Club (KLGCC), Sime Darby Property Berhad’s flagship leisure asset, has entered into a five-year strategic partnership with Jebsen & Jessen Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. under a Partners in Excellence Agreement valued at approximately RM30 million.

The collaboration is aimed at enhancing course performance, operational efficiency and sustainability across KLGCC’s 36-hole East and West Courses through the phased introduction of advanced turf and irrigation technologies.

Under the agreement, Jebsen & Jessen will implement a comprehensive upgrading programme featuring modern Toro turf equipment, advanced irrigation systems and data-driven solutions such as moisture mapping and precision water management. The initiatives are expected to improve consistency in playing conditions while supporting long-term resource efficiency.

The agreement was signed by Philipp Hoffmann, Managing Director of Jebsen & Jessen Turf & Irrigation, and Adam Calver, General Manager of Leisure at Sime Darby Property. The signing was witnessed by KLGCC Club President Tun Musa Hitam, Club Captain Datuk Syed Tamim Ansari Syed Mohamed, The Toro Company Senior Sales Manager for Southeast Asia Gareth Knight, and Jebsen & Jessen Malaysia General Manager Sarina Shafiee.

Adam Calver said the partnership reflects KLGCC’s commitment to maintaining world-class course standards.

“KLGCC has hosted more than 24 professional tournaments, and our members expect exceptional playing conditions year-round. This collaboration allows us to integrate advanced turf and irrigation technologies to enhance course quality while strengthening efficiency and environmental stewardship,” he said.

Philipp Hoffmann described the partnership as a milestone for golf course management in the region, noting that the combination of world-class turf solutions and precision irrigation systems would set new benchmarks for playability and sustainability. He added that Malaysia remains a key market for Jebsen & Jessen, with KLGCC serving as a flagship partner.

Jebsen & Jessen Technology – Turf & Irrigation is the principal distributor and service provider for Toro products in Malaysia and Southeast Asia, supplying solutions for golf courses, parks and stadiums.

Beyond equipment deployment, the partnership will also focus on long-term capability development through joint training initiatives and access to emerging innovations in course management. The five-year collaboration is expected to further strengthen KLGCC’s standing as a leading golf destination in the region while reinforcing Sime Darby Property’s focus on quality and responsible stewardship across its leisure portfolio.
