Malaysia’s Liyana Durisic held her nerve and delivered a composed performance to claim victory at the inaugural RM100,000 The Ladies’ Golf Tournament 2025, held at The Mines Resort & Golf Club.

The 24-year-old professional golfer posted rounds of 67, 71, and 73 for a total of 2-under-par 211 strokes, securing a wire-to-wire win and taking home the champion’s prize fund of RM17,500. Despite dropping three bogeys in the final round, Liyana recovered with a crucial birdie on the 12th hole to maintain her lead and seal the title.

Liyana focused on staying calm and playing her game and said that it felt amazing to come out on top in the first edition of this event.

Jocelyn Chee

Jocelyn Chee made a late surge with back-to-back birdies on holes 14 and 15 but finished second on one-over 214 after posting rounds of 73, 70, and 71. Ng Jing Xuen placed third at three-over 216, while Amberly Zaira captured the Best Amateur title with a total of seven-over 220 following rounds of 71, 75, and 74. Winnie Ng (221, +8) and Charlayne Chong (Am)(222, +9) completed the top six.

The official closing ceremony and prize presentation was graced by Duli Yang Maha Mulia Tuanku Ampuan Besar Negeri Sembilan Tuanku Aishah Rohani binti Almarhum Tengku Besar Mahmud, and attended by YAM Tunku Puteri Jawahir, Founder of The Mines Resort & Golf Club Tan Sri Lee Kim Yew, Exective Chairman of The Mines, Admiral Tan Sri Mohd Anwar Mohd Nor, and other distinguished guests.

In a speech during the ceremony, Tan Sri Mohd Anwar, who is also the President of the Malaysian Golf Association, highlighted the event’s wider purpose beyond competition.

Amberly Zaira

“This event, aptly named LADIES, symbolises much more than competition. It is a tribute to the growing presence and influence of women in golf, and a reflection of our commitment at MRGC to promote inclusivity, opportunity, and excellence in the sport we love.”

Tan Sri Anwar also announced plans to upgrade The Mines course to further enhance the playing experience. Work will begin with the replacement of the greens with Zoysia Links grass, making The Mines, according to Tan Sri Anwar, the first golf club in Malaysia to use this premium turf.

The Ladies’ Golf Tournament 2025 is a 54-hole stroke-play championship organised by the Professional Golf of Malaysia (PGM) and sanctioned by the Malaysian Golf Association (MGA).
