Malaysian Golf Association releases updated Mandatory Standard Operating Procedures for clubs in CMCO areas

The Malaysian Golf Association has released updated Mandatory Standard Operating Procedures (MSOP) for golf clubs in areas which fall under the Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO).

On March 2, the government announced that Selangor, Kuala Lumpur, Johor and Penang will revert to the CMCO from tomorrow, March 5, until March 18, joining Kedah, Kelantan, Negri Sembilan, Perak and Sarawak. Putrajaya, Melaka, Pahang, Terengganu, Perlis, Sabah and Labuan will be under the Recovery Movement Control Order (RMCO)

While tournaments are allowed in CMCO areas, there is a cap of 100 participants and NO prizegivings/gatherings are permitted. Additionally, participants from other states (who will need to obtain the necessary police approval) have to undergo an RTK swab test three days before the competition and a quarantine hotel has to be set up if accommodation is required.

Clauses 6 and 7 of the pre-game MSOP states: “RTK swab test shall be conducted three days prior (to) Competition for players and officials from different State (e.g. If the venue of Competition is in Selangor, players resided in Selangor shall not require RTK swab test). Only those with negative results will be allowed to take part.

“A quarantine-base hotel shall be set up if accommodation is required. Everyone involved in the Competition shall be accommodated at the said
hotel.”
