Kelly Tan continued her recent run of solid performances with a T18 placing in the ShopRite LPGA Classic on the LPGA Tour, while Gavin Green settled for joint 42nd in the Aberdeen Standard Investments Scottish Open in his return to the European Tour after a one-month break.
Kelly, who is the Malaysian women’s No 1, carded rounds of 68, 69, 65 and 74 at Seaview’s Bay Course in New Jersey for a total of eight-under-par, 11 shots adrift of winner Mel Reid of England.
Moving up to 38th place on the LPGA’s Race To CME Globe standings, Kelly makes her 15th Major appearance in this week’s KPMG Women’s PGA Championship at Aronimink Golf Club in Pennsylvania.
Gavin meanwhile settled for a T42 finish on one-under-par after rounds of 70, 71, 67 and 75 at The Renaissance Club. The Rolex Series event was won by England’s Aaron Rai in a playoff over compatriot Tommy Fleetwood after both men finished on 11-under-par.
Currently in 37th place on the European Tour’s Race To Dubai rankings, Gavin heads to England next for the BMW PGA Championship at Wentworth which is also a Rolex Series event. The Malaysian men’s No 1 had spent the month of September back in Malaysia, during which he won a local tour event, the PGM MNRB Championship at Glenmarie Golf & Country Club.
