Malaysia’s Kelly Tan is well-placed at the halfway stage of the ANA Inspiration following a second round two-under-par 70, which leaves her in T5 position on six-under-par in the second Major of the abbreviated 2020 LPGA season.
Kelly chalked up an eagle and two birdies against two dropped shots at Mission Hills Country Club in Rancho Mirage, California, to enter the weekend five strokes behind Nelly Korda of the United States who is chasing her first Major title.
Kelly tees off in today’s third round at 9.39am (Malaysian time – Saturday, 12.39am) in a three-ball with Korea’s In Gee Chun and Denmark’s Nanna Koerstz Madsen.
In 13 previous Major starts, Kelly’s best finish came at the 2016 KPMG Women’s PGA Championship where she tied for 30th at Sahalee Country Club. Her only previous appearance in the ANA Inspiration came in 2016 when she finished joint 50th.
