Marcus Lim produced a scintillating performance in the second round of the PGM Royal Pahang Closed Championship 2025, carding a flawless nine-under-par 63 to surge up the leaderboard. His round, highlighted by an eagle and seven birdies, moved him to a 54-hole total of 12-under-par and firmly into title contention ahead of the final day at Kelab Golf DiRaja Pahang.
Local favourite Edvin Ying sits in a four-way tie at nine-under alongside seasoned campaigners Ben Leong, Shahriffuddin Ariffin, and Jeremiah Kim. Just one stroke behind them are Round 1 leader Malcolm Ting and top-performing amateur Nateeshvar Ganesh, both at eight-under-par.
With a tightly packed leaderboard and low scores expected in the final round, the battle for the RM180,000 prize purse remains wide open. A total of 47 players made the cut, which was set at five-over-par (+5).
In the Ladies Championship, Mirabel Ting continued her dominant run, producing a bogey-free round to extend her lead to five shots. The 21-year-old sits comfortably at 12-under-par, while closest challenger Aretha Pan trails at seven-under. Geraldine Wong, the 2024 PGM Order of Merit champion, is in third place at even par.
PGM Royal Pahang Closed Championship 2025 is offering prize purse of RM180,000, whereas for the Ladies Championship is RM30,000.
