MercedesTrophy 2023 celebrates golf excellence and luxury

Mercedes-Benz Malaysia recently concluded the 2023 MercedesTrophy National Final, marking the end of this year’s tournament. Spanning 33 years, the MercedesTrophy has become an immensely successful amateur golf series held in over 60 countries.

Mr Lim Wee Tet, overall champion of the MercedesTrophy 2023, said “The MercedesTrophy is a tournament I eagerly await each year and registering for it brings me immense joy. I would like to extend my heartfelt gratitude to Mercedes-Benz Malaysia for ensuring a seamless journey from registration to our time on the greens. The fantastic organising of this event truly made it a remarkable experience and I look forward to competing in the MercedesTrophy 2023 World Final in Stuttgart, Germany in October.”

The competition consisted of four qualifying rounds, with the first round held at Forest City Resort, Johor. The top five winners from each round advanced to the National Final, which took place at The ELS Club Desaru Coast, Johor. The National Final proved to be a true test of skill and composure for all the finalists. The winners of the MercedesTrophy 2023 National Final were Mr. Lim Wee Tet, who claimed the overall champion title, Mr. Ken Lee Chee Weng as the first runner-up, Ms. Sim Li Yin as the Drive to the Major winner, and Mr. Eugene Sau as the lucky draw winner of the EPOS sportive Chrono watch.

The tournament offered numerous exciting prizes and exclusive merchandise, including the EQE 350+ 4MATIC as a Hole in One Prize. The top two finalists from the National Final received the grand prize of a trophy and an all-expenses-paid trip to the MercedesTrophy 2023 World Final. This year, the World Final will be held for the first time at the luxurious 5-star superior hotel ‘Der Öschberghof,’ situated on the outskirts of the Black Forest, overlooking the Lake of Constance and Switzerland from 3rd to 7th October 2023. They will be joined by the winner from the MercedesTrophy National Final 2023 Indonesia, forming a team of three, to represent Southeast Asia team in the World Final.
