Malaysia’s Mirabel Ting continued her impressive run at the LPGA Qualifying Series – Qualifying Stage, carding a solid 3-under 69 on Thursday to share the 36-hole lead with Sweden’s Anna Nordfors at 11-under-par 134 overall.
Starting her second round on the Bobcat Course at Plantation Golf and Country Club, the 21-year-old picked up right where she left off, sinking back-to-back birdies on her opening two holes before adding a third on the par-5 4th. Despite a few missed chances on the greens, Ting maintained her composure throughout the round.
“I was hitting a lot better with my driver today,” said Ting. “There was a little bit of confusion with my irons and putting, the putts didn’t drop, but I’m quite happy with how I played and how patient I stayed on the golf course.”
The 2025 ANNIKA Award recipient and former Florida State University standout credited her ‘sister’, Michelle Koh, who is caddying this week, for keeping her calm under pressure. “She’s a pretty good caddie, actually,” Ting laughed. “She kept me really calm again today. I was much calmer than yesterday. I just love having her on the golf course.”
Ting’s consistency has placed her in prime position heading into Friday’s “moving day,” where she’ll look to build on her momentum and stay on track for a top-45 finish, the benchmark to advance to the Final Qualifying Stage of the LPGA Q-Series.
