All eyes will be on Malaysian golf prodigy Mirabel Ting as she returns to the Kuala Lumpur Golf & Country Club (KLGCC) to defend her title at the 14th TSM Charity Golf Challenge, set to take place from 16 to 19 June 2025 at the East Course.

Currently ranked World No. 2 on the World Amateur Golf Ranking (WAGR) and fresh off a historic collegiate season in the United States, where she became the first NCAA Division I golfer to post a stroke average below 68.80, Ting returns as the star attraction.

Her presence underscores the calibre of the tournament, which offers RM133,000 in academic scholarships to the top 10 players, making it the most valuable junior amateur golf prize in Malaysia and among the top in Asia. With qualifying benchmarks set at a handicap index of 8.3 and below for boys and 10.3 for girls, the tournament offers a vital pathway to global rankings and national recognition.

Themed “In Search of the Malaysian Tiger,” Ting leads a field of 85 elite under-21 players, competing not just for glory but also for national exposure and ranking points.

Organised under the patronage of Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, and supported by the TSM Charity Golf Foundation, the event also highlights the work of the Tunas Bestari Golf Academy, which continues to nurture future champions with structured training, mentorship, and academic support.

The Tunas Bestari Golf Academy founded in 2015, is dedicated to identifying and developing junior golfers from all walks of life. The Academy provides a platform for young talents to grow through competition, structured training, and mentorship. While participants gain valuable exposure, sponsors play a critical role in funding education, high-performance coaching, and leadership development.

The Academy embodies the broader mission of the TSM Charity Golf Foundation (TSMCGF) to empower future leaders.

Over the years, the Foundation has awarded scholarships to Malaysian students pursuing educational opportunities abroad. Its legacy continues through sustained investments in youth development—both on and off the course.

As President of the TSM Charity Golf Foundation (TSMCGF), Dato’ Mustapha Buang, notes: “This event is more than a tournament — it’s a national movement investing in the leaders of tomorrow.”

“We are deeply committed to creating real, sustainable impact by investing in young Malaysians. This year, we return with a stronger, more inclusive platform that reinforces our core mission.”
