Mirabel Ting seals commanding win; Edven Ying emerges winner in playoff battle

Nateeshvar Ganesh (Best Amateur Winner), En Nik Mustapha (General Manager of PGM), Edven Ying, Champion, Mirabel Ting, Ladies Champion and Dato Suhaimi Sulong, Honorary Secretary of Kelab Golf DiRaja Pahang.

It was a day of triumph and tension at the PGM Royal Pahang Closed Championship 2025, as Mirabel Ting delivered a brilliant finish to capture the Ladies Championship title, while Edven Ying survived a gripping four-hole playoff to clinch victory in the men’s division at Kelab Golf DiRaja Pahang. It’s been over a year since Edven’s last win at Templer Park in 2023

Mirabel, continuing her imperious form from earlier rounds, carded four birdies against two bogeys to close at 14-under-par 202. Her consistency proved unshakeable as she pulled away from the field to secure a nine-stroke victory over Aretha Pan, who finished at 5-under-par 211. Siti Zulaikah claimed third at even par.

While Mirabel’s march to the title was decisive, the men’s event ended in high drama.

Edven Ying, Ben Leong, and amateur Nateeshvar Ganesh were tied at 14-under-par 202 after the final round, forcing a sudden-death playoff.

On the first playoff hole at the par-5 18th, all three players reached the green in two. Nateeshvar faltered with a chip that ran over the back, settling for par, while Edven and Ben matched birdies to advance.

What followed was a nail-biting battle of nerves. Both players birdied the second and third playoff holes, matching each other stroke for stroke. But it was on the fourth extra hole that Edven finally broke through, sinking a clutch birdie putt while Ben missed his chance to extend the duel.

Marcus Lim, who had surged into contention with a bogey-free round of 66 highlighted by an eagle and seven birdies, finished tied for fourth with Jeremiah Kim at 12-under-par.
