Na Rin An won the KLPGA Hana Financial Group Championship yesterday, closing with a one-under-par 71 to claim her second Korea LPGA (KLPGA) title by three shots from Ha Na Jang.
Starting the final round tied for lead with Jang and Min Ji Park, An soon surged ahead as the latter two struggled with the cold weather and strong winds at Sky72 Golf Club in Incheon.
An finished with a winning score of eight-under-par 280 in the KWR1.5 billion (US$1.3 million) tournament, which is also the first event of a new regional professional ladies circuit dubbed the Ladies Asian Tour (LAT) series. The new circuit falls under the auspices of a non-profit body known as the Asian Golf Leaders Forum (AGLF), formed in January.
“It took me four years to earn my first win (at the Autech Carrier Championship 2020) a month ago, but here I am picking up a second win, which is earlier than I expected. I’m really glad and I will work even harder from now on,” said An, who pocketed a cheque for KWR300 million (US$268,000).
With the win, An moved up the KLPGA Player of the Year rankings to eighth place and the 2020 money list to second spot with KRW595,022,619.
