Malaysia’s Natasha Andrea Oon added another feather to her US collegiate golf cap when she was named the 2019-20 Mountain West Conference Women’s Golfer of the Year.
Representing San Jose State University’s golf team, dubbed the Spartans, Natasha led the conference in stroke average with 71.64. She had three top-10 finishes during the shortened season, including second place at the Minnesota Invitational.
Natasha also received first team All-Mountain West honours for the second consecutive season. Last week, she was named an honorable mention All-America honoree by the Women’s Golf Coaches’ Association.
In her sophomore year with San Jose State, Natasha is the third Spartan to win the Mountain West Women’s Golfer of the Year honour, joining My Leander (2017) and Abegail Arevalo (2019).
“We really wish we could have finished the season,” said San Jose State head golf coach Dana Dormann. “Natasha was getting herself ready to have another strong finish this spring. She works very hard and is a complete player.”
