Odyssey Golf has added five new models to its revolutionary Stroke Lab Black line, consisting of two proven blades, two proven mallets and a new mallet shape in the R-Line Arrow. They join the first two models unveiled last year, Ten and Bird of Prey, both high-MOI mallets.
Technology
In addition to their sleek black finish, Stroke Lab Black putters also feature Odyssey’s new Microhinge Star insert, with firmer feel and brighter sound while promoting forward-spin at impact for smooth roll.
The Stroke Lab shaft technology saves 40g through an innovative new multi-material shaft design that combines a graphite body with a steel tip to net out at just 75g. The saved 40g is redistributed by adding 10g to the head and 30g to the grip, essentially rebalancing the putter.
Odyssey’s research shows that Stroke Lab’s innovative weight distribution improves the consistency of backswing length, face-angle at impact, head speed through impact and tempo. The feel for the putter head becomes more acute, helping the golfer repeat the same, smooth stroke time after time.
New Models
One: Traditional blade design with a crank hosel for significant toe hang, best suited for strokes with more face rotation and arc.
Double Wide: Face-balanced wide blade best suited for strokes with minimal face rotation and arc.
Seven: Double bend and face-balanced mallet, best suited for strokes with minimal face rotation and arc.
Rossie: Face-balanced small mallet best suited for strokes with minimal face rotation and arc.
R-Line Arrow: New large mallet with a distinct arrow cut into the flange for easy alignment, double bend and face-balanced best suited for strokes with more face rotation and arc.
Four-time PGA Tour winner Xander Schauffele has put the Stroke Lab Black Seven in his bag. “I’ve always felt comfortable with the classic Seven shape and I used a Stroke Lab shaft for all of 2019.
