The second edition of the Poh Kong Ladies Golf Series 2.0, Malaysia’s largest women’s golf tournament, concluded at Horizon Hills Golf & Country Club, marking another successful milestone in the nation’s growing interest in women’s golf. Organised under the MGA Women in Golf Charter (WIGC), the event not only highlighted fierce competition but also emphasised the role of women in the sport, both on and off the course.
Sunny Teh took the spotlight in the individual division with an impressive 42 Stableford points, securing her victory. She praised the platform provided by WIGC and Poh Kong, stating it set a new standard for women’s golf tournaments in Malaysia. This tournament continues to build on its legacy since its 2023 debut, expanding beyond the Klang Valley into Johor Bahru, and further cementing its reputation as a national event that champions women’s participation and career growth in the golfing world.
The series also saw positive feedback from key figures like Elizabeth Choon of Poh Kong, who expressed pride in the event’s inclusivity and empowerment of women, and Dato’ Merina Gan of WIGC, who sees the tournament as a community-building effort, inspiring women to break barriers in the sport. With its successful expansion and widespread appeal, the Poh Kong Ladies Golf Series looks set to further elevate the role of women in Malaysian golf.
