PXG’s 0211 iron is the first cast set produced by the American clubmaker, featuring an evolutionally hollow cavity design and ultra-thin HT1770 steel face insert.
The cavity is filled with high-speed COR2 polymer, a material which is 20 percent faster than the previously-used TPE. In addition to generating higher ball speed and tighten dispersion, the polymer also enhances feel and sound.
The face is laser-welded around the perimeter of the body instead of the face itself, a process which expands the overall size of the sweet spot and improves ball speed on mishits.
Progressive blade lengths and offset optimise playability, with the length getting shorter as it transitions from the long irons into the mid and short irons. The amount of offset, meanwhile, decreases going from the top of the set to the pitching wedge.
The 0211 irons come with two stock shaft options at selected MST Golf Super Stores – the True Temper Elevate steel shaft and Mitsubishi Chemical’s Multi Mesh Technology (MMT) graphite shaft. Golfers have to undergo a fitting process by qualified golf consultants to get the right set specifications.
