Legion XIII captain Jon Rahm lands in Singapore brimming with confidence after his LIV Golf Hong Kong win, acknowledging the victory brought relief as well as satisfaction.
Last week’s victory eased Rahm’s burden after a long wait for another title, he said before Aramco LIV Golf Singapore at Sentosa Golf Club.
“Not a little bit of relief – a lot of relief,” Rahm said. “It’s nice to know all the work you’ve been putting in is paying off.”
Rahm, who closed strong in Hong Kong, said little time remained to celebrate, as players quickly flew to Singapore and shifted focus.
“It can be a blessing and a curse,” he said. “You don’t really get time to celebrate, but you also get the chance to compete again while you’re playing well.”

The former Masters champion asserts that momentum in golf exists only when players maintain consistent effort.
“It’s easy to think you played well last week and everything will carry over,” he said. “But you still have to do the work.”
Last year, Rahm finished in the top five, but he said the course presents a different challenge than the shorter layout in Hong Kong.
Positioning and accuracy, Rahm says, are the keys at Sentosa rather than sheer power.
“This course can be quite intimidating,” he explained. “There are a lot of decisions off the tee. You can be aggressive with a driver, or you can lay back with irons to give yourself a different angle into the greens.”
Large greens, he added, create significant differences in approach shots depending on pin placements.
“You might have a wedge one day and a six-iron the next, depending on where the pin is,” Rahm said. “There’s a lot of variability here. If you’re not in the fairway, it can get very difficult,” he added.
Earlier this season, Rahm made a minor equipment change, switching to the new Callaway Quantum Driver.
The change, he said, has eliminated a persistent left miss and boosted mishit consistency.
“One thing I’ve noticed is that even on heel strikes, the ball still maintains good speed and spin,” Rahm said. “Consistency is key in this game.”
He added that distance gains may partially stem from offseason physical training.
“I’ve gotten stronger over the last few months,” he said.
One of the strongest aspects of his game recently, Rahm said, has been his putting.
“I’ve been putting really well,” he said. “Making more mid-range putts always helps.”
He added that confidence in every part of his game has boosted his results.
Rahm now targets consecutive victories – an accomplishment he has seldom managed in back-to-back weeks.
“It would be a huge accomplishment,” he said. “Hopefully, I can give myself a chance on Sunday.”
