Singapore amateurs sweep titles at the 15th Kuala Lumpur Amateur Open

The 15th Kuala Lumpur Amateur Open, played at the Kelab Golf Perkhidmatan Awam featured 108 top amateur golfers from Malaysia and Singapore who showcased their skills in a tightly contested tournament.

Singapore’s Ryan Ang posted rounds of 69-68-68 for a 11-under total of 205 to emerge winner of the Men’s Division. Close behind were Nateeshvar Anatha Ganesh from Malaysia and Ryan Wong from Singapore, both tying at 217, one-under par, which highlighted the fierce competition and high level of play that characterised this year’s event. Nateeshvar carded 76, 72, 69 while Ryan Wong posted 75, 71 , 71.

In the Ladies’ Division, Aloysa Atienza from Singapore emerged victorious with a score of 219 (73, 73, 73), three-over par, after maintaining steady form throughout the tournament. Malaysian golfer Sohniya Chandra Mohan followed with a score of 226 (78, 75, 73), while Nur Diana Syafiqah Abdullah (77, 78, 77) completed the top three with a total of 232.

“This year’s Kuala Lumpur Amateur Open has not only been about scoring and competition but also about the spirit of camaraderie and growth in the sport,” said Teoh Piek Kee, Tournament Director. “We are thrilled to see such talented golfers emerging from our region and performing at such high standards.”

The tournament provided an invaluable platform for amateur golfers to gain competitive exposure and experience. With participants ranging in age and experience, the Kuala Lumpur Amateur Open continues to foster talent and enthusiasm for golf in Asia.
