The fourteenth edition of the AmBank Group-SportExcel International Junior Golf Championship starts tomorrow at Glenmarie Golf & Country Club in Shah Alam, featuring 65 players from Malaysia and 79 international players.
The international players are from India, Taiwan, Indonesia, Switzerland, China, Australia, Thailand, USA, Brunei, Philippines, Japan and South Korea. The overall gender breakdown is 88 boys and 56 girls.
The overall best player from the blue tee (Boys 13-14 and 15-18 age categories) and overall best player from the white tee (Girls 13-14 and 15-18 age categories) will be vying for the Tan Sri Azman Hashim Challenge Trophies, named after the AmBank Group Chairman. 2018 winners Lin Jia Hao of China and Mirabel Ting of Malaysia will be defending their titles.

“Our sponsorship through this tournament will assist, in one way or the other, our local budding golfers in realising their dreams of one day making it as top professional golfers in not only Asia, but globally, he added.
Prizes will also be awarded in the eight age categories: Boys A (15-18), Girls A (1518), Boys B (1314), Girls B (1314), Boys C (11-12), Girls C (11 -12), Boys D (910) and Girls D (910). There is also prize for the best team, where the winners will be presented with the Tunku Imran Challenge Trophy.
Players will have the opportunity to win four golf scholarships offered by the renowned Hills Golf Academy in Australia. A panel from AmBank and SportExcel will select the recipients of the scholarships, comprising one year-long scholarship and three one-month scholarships.
