The Ladies’ Golf Tournament will return to The Mines Resort & Golf Club from 1 to 3 Oct 2026 for its second edition, as organisers continue their push to establish a distinctive Malaysian platform for women’s golf.
Initiated by The Mines Resort & Golf Club founder Tan Sri Lee Kim Yew, the tournament was launched in 2025 to provide Malaysian women golfers with greater competitive opportunities and to develop a home-grown championship with the ambition of gaining regional and international recognition.

The 2026 edition will retain its RM100,000 prize purse, supporting the tournament’s goal of providing a meaningful competitive platform for women golfers and contributing to the development of professional golf in Malaysia.
The event builds on The Mines’ long association with women’s golf. In 2000, the resort hosted the Women’s World Cup of Golf, which brought leading international players to Malaysia.
The Mines refocused on women’s golf 25 years later with the launch of The Ladies in 2025. The inaugural championship was won by Liyana Durisic, who finished two-under-par over 54 holes to claim the title and RM17,500. Jocelyn Chee was runner-up, with Ng Jing Xuen third.
Lee said the long-term ambition was to establish a prestigious women’s championship originating in Malaysia that could eventually gain international recognition.
Organisers said the tournament is intended to offer more than prize money, with a focus on creating competitive opportunities, building confidence and developing a pathway for emerging Malaysian golfers to progress from junior and amateur competition to the professional game.
The tournament’s message, “It Could Be You,” is aimed at encouraging young women golfers to pursue their ambitions and see themselves competing at the highest level.
The organisers hope The Ladies will become an established annual championship, attracting stronger fields and eventually expanding its profile beyond Malaysia, while maintaining its focus on supporting local women golfers.
