The Professional Golf of Malaysia (PGM) Tour resumes in late February after a two-year hiatus. The PGM calendar of event was unveiled at the Glenmarie Golf & Country Club on Tuesday by acting chairman Tan Sri Hamad Kama Piah Che Othman.

“I am pleased that I can announce the recommencement of our tour and share the 2022 calendar,” he said at the launch that was attended by the golf fraternity and sponsors of the tour. He revealed that the tour will be a smaller one, and tournaments will be closed as international travels has not yet reverted to normalcy.
The 2022 PGM Tour calendar features 10 tournaments for the men and five for the ladies. There will also be a qualifying school in September. All-in-all, the 16 events will offer a total prize purse of RM1.39mil.
The tour will kick off with the inaugural RM200,000 Tun Ahmad Sarji Trophy on February 23 at the Saujana Golf & Country Club, in honour of the late chairman and for his immense contribution to the growth and development of professional golf in the country. It will be the only tournament that will be played over four days. The remaining tournaments will be played over 54 holes.
According to PGM general manager Nik Mustapha Nik Mohd, being closed events, the tournaments will not be eligible for world ranking points. The day three events will also be held on weekdays from Tuesday to Thursday, freeing the weekends for members.
He added that the PGM Tour was committed to continuing the mission of their late Chairman Tun Ahmad Sarji’s vision of providing a credible and sustainable platform for the local professionals to compete.

20 – 22 September: PGM UMW Championship, PGM Ladies Championship – Impian GCC
11 – 13 October: PGM Northport Championship, PGM Ladies Championship – Glenmarie GCC
