The second edition of the Srixon Malaysian Junior Development Tour (SMJDT) will tee off in mid-May starting with Templer Park Country Club. There will be four venues in Peninsular Malaysia, with the final leg in Johor. The one major addition to the 2023 schedule will be the stand-alone leg which will be held at the Miri Golf Club, Sarawak. This leg will be especially for juniors from East Malaysia (Sabah, Sarawak, and Labuan).
This tournament series, owned by Srixon, is designed to provide junior golfers with an engaging and fun ‘Elite’ golf experience. As per the previous year, the Masterclass Series will once again be held in conjunction with each leg of the tournament series and conducted by Dwi Emas International School. Every topic welcomes full participation by both parents and junior golfers.
The male and female winners of the 2022 Srixon Malaysian Junior Development Tour Order of Merit received full access to play in every tournament in 2023 on the PGM Tour, now the Toyota Tour. Three young men competed in the Asian Development Tour’s PKNS Selangor Masters, two boys and two girls ranked are now listed on the World Amateur Golf Rankings (WAGR), and every participant enjoyed Junior Scoreboard recognition.

The Strokeplay tournaments will feature three categories – A (Boys 16-18, Girls 16-18), B (Boys 13-15, Girls 13-15) and C (Boys 10-12 & Girls 10-12). The former two will be played over three days while the latter, two days. Only Groups A and B will qualify for WAGR points, and all players can submit their scores to the Junior Golf Scoreboard. The Order of Merit points system will only be used for the tournaments in Peninsular Malaysia. Order of Merit prizes will be awarded to Groups A & B, 1st to 3rd place at the final in October.

In 2023, the Srixon Malaysian Junior Development Tour in its endeavour to seek out new opportunities to expand its reach is collaborating with the TrustGolf Singapore Junior World Masters. An MOU was signed between Srixon Malaysian Junior Development Tour and the TrustGolf Singapore Junior World Masters represented by Mr Takuya Ono, Managing Director Dunlop Srixon Sports Asia Sdn Bhd and Mr Desmond Tan, Event Director of TrustGolf Singapore Junior World Masters 2023.
Dwi Emas International School launched their Golf Academy Powered by Srixon. It was officiated by Ms. Anne Tham, CEO of Dwi Emas International School and Mr. Takuya Ono, Managing Director Dunlop Srixon Sports Asia Sdn, Bhd.
The Dwi Emas International School in Shah Alam where the the launch and the signing were held took the opportunity to launch their very own Dwi Emas Golf Academy powered by Srixon. The academy was officiated by Ms Anne Tham, Founder and Group CEO of ACE EdVenture Education Group and Mr Takuya Ono, Managing Director Dunlop Srixon Sports Asia Sdn Bhd.
The academy is open to all students from all ACE EdVenture schools including Dwi Emas, Sri Emas, and MITstem. Ms Anne Tham hopes that by taking up golf, the student can develop endurance, strength, and sportsmanship to become well-rounded individuals.
