Amateur Aiden Kei relied on precision and stamina to capture the season-opening title at the PGM KGPA Closed Championship, closing with a flawless final round to finish at 16-under-par after 54 holes.
Kei carded seven birdies on holes 2, 5, 8, 11, 12, 16 and 17 for a bogey-free round, sealing a two-shot victory over runner-up Jeremiah Kim, who ended at 14-under.
“Triumphing at this Professional Championship will give me more confidence at the next level and surely boost my game strategy further,” Kei said.
Gavin Green, Ben Leong and Shahriffuddin Ariffin shared the third spot at 11-under. Green posted the day’s lowest round with a 64.
Liyana Durisic
In the Ladies division, Liyana overcame a shaky start to finish at seven-under-par and claim the RM10,000 winner’s purse and title.
Despite a double bogey on her opening hole, the 10th, she stayed composed. “I stayed calm and kept focused that there were still 17 holes to go in my mind. For sure, everyone played well this week,” Liyana said.
Zulaikah Nasser finished second, with Winnie Ng in third.
The 2026 PGM KGPA Closed Championship featured a total prize fund of RM180,000 for the men’s event and RM30,000 for the Ladies Championship.
