Malaysian Golf Association updates guidelines for golf clubs in CMCO areas, stricter SOPs include closure of changing rooms and bars

The Malaysian Golf Association (MGA) has updated its guidelines for golf clubs located within areas falling under the Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO).

Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya and Selangor have been under the CMCO since October 14, which was due to end on October 27 but was extended for another two weeks. Seremban district in Negeri Sembilan comes under a two-week CMCO from Thursday (November 5).

The updated MGA guidelines include the closure of changing rooms, bars and lounges, strict adherence to seating limits at F&B outlets, and the submission of health/travel declaration forms by all golfers. The full list of guidelines is appended below.

In a circular to golf clubs and media sent out today, MGA president Admiral Tan Sri Dato’ Setia Mohd Anwar Mohd Nor noted:

“In order to assist the government to flatten the curve of Covid-19 cases, the Malaysian Golf Association (MGA) has updated the “Golf Club Guidelines During Covid-19 Pandemic” which is to be adhered to by golf clubs located within the Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO) declared areas effective immediately.”
